Hello and welcome!

My name is Max Asselmeier, and I am from Wheaton, Illinois which is a northwest suburb of Chicago. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BS in mechanical engineering and a minor in computer science, and I am currently a Robotics PhD student at Georgia Tech where I am co-advised by Dr. Patricio A. Vela (IVALab) and Dr. Ye Zhao (LIDAR Group).

At Georgia Tech, I am investigating how to design a perception-informed framework for legged navigation that can cater different sets of planners and controllers to different settings based on a robot's level of familiarity with its environment.

I love working with robots, going to concerts, and playing soccer!
